Royster announces his withdrawal from legislative race

Norristown, PA (May 13, 2008) – Dwayne Royster of Norristown, the Democratic nominee for the 70th District legislative seat in the Pennsylvania General Assembly announced today that he is withdrawing from the race for personal reasons.
“I have thought over this matter long and hard, and feel it is in the best interest of my family to withdraw,” Royster said.  I want to thank my wife, Suzette, and our daughters for their support and commitment over these past two months.  I would also like to thank my extended family, friends, co-workers, community, and my congregation at Living Water United Church of Christ.”
Royster said he looks forward to spending more time with his family and to continuing to pastor Living Water, one of the most progressive new churches in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Royster also thanked the members of his campaign team he said “worked diligently” to put together a campaign plan, design and print literature, hold events, and canvass neighborhoods.
“I now look forward to supporting the new Democratic nominee for the State House seat in the 70th District as soon as he or she is selected,” he said.
The 70th district includes parts of Norristown, East Norriton, Worcester, Towamencin, Skippack and Lower Salford.
